TLT's International team for the IBA conference, Copenhagen

4–9 October 2026

Copenhagen is widely recognised as one of the greenestcities in the world, serving as a gateway to Scandinavia and a thrivingEuropean hub for startups, with a strong entrepreneurial culture across IT,life sciences, and clean energy. The city benefits from a stable economy andconsistently ranks highly for sustainability, governance, and transparency, andwill host this year’s International BarAssociation (IBA) Annual Conference, which we will be attending.

Renowned for its exceptional dining scene and “hygge”lifestyle, centred on comfort and simple pleasures. The city provides a uniqueblend of innovation, sustainability, and culture, making it an ideal andmemorable setting for the 2026 IBA AnnualConference.

The annual conference gives us the opportunity to connectwith 5,000+ attendees representing over 2,700 law firms,corporations, governments and regulators from more than 130 jurisdictions Itprovides a platform for networking and is a pipeline for new business and crossborder referrals. We are looking forward to meeting again in person with otherlike-minded law firms from all corners of the globe focussing on growing ourworking relationships and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.Throughout the course of the week, we will be hosting and participating inmeetings with our international colleagues at other firms and attendingreceptions and conference sessions.

Chris Owen advises on the resolution of complex disputes, including contractual, corporate and shareholder matters, IT contracts, and manufacturing and engineering issues. He also has extensive experience in injunctions, professional negligence claims, arbitration, and mediation, and is an accredited mediator. In addition, Chris regularly handles cross-border claims and jurisdictional disputes.

Alice Gardner specialises in strategically important complex acquisitions and disposals of companies and businesses. Her particular area of expertise is advising on M&A deals that include an international connection or cross border structures. Alice is part of the leadership team in our international strategy with a particular focus on North America.

Caroline Ramsay is an international trade specialist, with a particular focus on subsidy control. She chairs TLT’s International Trade group which advises central government and private sector clients on a range of international trade measures and post-Brexit legal advice. Most recently Caroline has led the cross-border legal teams supporting the UK Government in its negotiation of a number of Free Trade Agreements including the UK-India FTA, and the UK’s accession to the CPTPP.

Gareth Oldale provides commercially strategic advice to a range of domestic and international clients across the private and public sectors, with a focus on technology projects, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity and information law matters. He is also Head of our London office.

Nick Shenken has advised on the real estate, corporate and commercial aspects of renewable energy projects for over 20 years acting for developers, funders, investors, buyers and sellers across a range of technologies including onshore/offshore wind, solar, energy storage, electric vehicles, hydro, biomass/EfW amongst others.

Sarah-Louise Green has over 20 years' experience in the International legal market, developing and growing strong relationships with independent law firms globally to support the firm’s international strategy.
