Legal Director

Anthony’s practice covers advising clients on a wide range of commercial contract issues, including taking the legal lead on large scale outsourcing and technology deals advising on complex multi-stranded commercial arrangements, leading legal teams supporting in-house Counsel on bespoke complex transactions, identifying in advance likely legal and commercial risks and bringing in specialist legal advisers to support the delivery of outsourcing and technology projects on time and within budget for our clients.
Anthony has experience in numerous sectors including the central and local government, TV and broadcasting, SMART, financial services, telecoms and the digital sector. Anthony is able to use his first-hand, practical experience to provide strategic and commercial advice to our clients.

Experience
- Complex technology solutions: advising a major UK broadcaster on the procurement of a fully integrated solution for on-screen weather graphics. This project included working closely with technical and programming staff, web designers, HR and finance advising on the conclusion of a five year contract for a complex weather graphics solution. Anthony coordinated input from in-house and other external counsel whilst being legal lead in commercial negotiations and advising on the public procurement rules.
- Major public sector outsourcing & insourcing: acting as legal lead in long-term projects for the planning, preparation and execution of major public sector outsourcing deals including ICT, finance, payroll and accounting, HR, facilities management, revenue collection, customer services contact centres, data centres and hosting services and public/private joint ventures (including the in-sourcing of services). Anthony regularly advised on project governance and terms of reference, the public procurement regulations, preparing contract and tender documentation, attending and contributing to bid evaluation, advising on commercial and legal risks, preparing bidder clarification documentation and advising on formal and informal challenges from disappointed suppliers. Anthony has also supported commercial organisations bidding for public sector contracts including BPO clients, and leading organisations involved in building and operating UK infrastructure.
- Critical National Infrastructure Projects: Anthony has advised on two recent CNS projects. His involvement included advising a Government Department through a competitive dialogue procedure leading legal negotiations and attending governance boards; and successfully supporting in-house counsel from a major UK infrastructure provider in bidding for a UK government contract for the build of the smart metering network.
