Chartered Trade mark attorney

As an experienced trade mark attorney with over 15 years of experience, Sanjay is well versed in the nuances of trade mark protection and devising robust national and international strategies to maximise brand protection.
In addition, he has substantial experience in dealing with contentious matters at the UKIPO. As such, Sanjay’s experience and expertise means that clients will benefit from effective brand protection strategies combined with a solid ability to enforce the IP rights sought.
Working in all sectors, Sanjay specialises in providing clear advice that combines legal thinking with commercial acumen to problem solve and to place clients in the best possible position.
Sanjay is also a valued member of CITMA and is regulated by IPREG who are an SRA equivalent for trade mark attorneys.
Experience
- Successfully represented a client at Appeal to the Appointed Person in overcoming a trade mark decision in a complex invalidity action.
- Successfully negotiated a trade mark dispute to avoid the client unduly limiting the scope of protection that their trade mark offered. In reaching a conclusion on the negotiations, the client was able to maintain a broader scope of protection which meant that their business needs were adequately protected.
- Assisted a client in strategically putting in place trade mark protection for their business in the UK and internationally. The client had been trading for a while but did not have in place trade mark protection for their long-standing business. The client asked for Sanjay’s support in ensuring trade mark protection was put in place and to liaise with various international agents to properly guide and deliver the progress of the applications worldwide.
