Sophie acts for major lenders in complex and high value litigation.

Her advice includes matters arising in commercial banking and recovery disputes, including security issues, undue influence, and reputational considerations. Sophie is experienced negotiating settlements on behalf of her banking clients. She is highly regarded for her proactive and diligent approach. Sophie has a specialism advising both joint fixed charge receivers and lender clients appointing receivers on a wide range of contentious receivership issues.

Sophie joined TLT in 2014 and has gone on to train and qualify with the firm, becoming an Associate in 2018, Senior Associate in 2022 and Managing Associate in 2025.

  • Secondment in Specialist Business Banking at Lloyds 2021.
  • Acting for joint fixed charge receivers. This includes dealing with high value chattels, livestock, title issues, possession claims, tenancies, and occupiers.
  • Acting for joint fixed charge receivers to defeat  injunctions seeking to prevent a sale of property.
  • Acting for a wealth banks to settle high value debt recovery disputes.
  • Acting for a major UK building society and its CEO in defeating a High Court claim by its former customer, including allegations of fraud.
