TLT’s North West growth reflected in standout industry recognition
UK national law firm TLT has delivered a strong performance in the 2027 Legal 500 UK and Chambers & Partners UK rankings, following another year of continued growth in Manchester and across the North West.
The firm has retained its Tier 1 ranking for Banking Litigation in the Legal 500 UK North West guide, a position it has held for the last three years. Partners Chantal Stroker and James Chadwick have also retained their ‘Leading Partner’ rankings. This recognition follows the firm's double victory for Litigation Team of the Year for the second consecutive year at the Manchester Legal Awards in 2026, having won Employment Team of the Year and Litigation Team of the Year in 2025.
The firm achieved 23 practice area rankings and 39 individual rankings across the 2027 Legal 500 UK and Chambers UK North West guides, including three top tier individual lawyer rankings in both guides.
Employment Partner Ed Cotton was recognised in the Legal 500 UK ‘Hall of Fame’ for the first time, while maintaining his Band 1 ranking in Chambers UK. Further recognition includes Consultant Graeme Orchison, who was ranked as a ‘Senior Statesperson’ by Chambers UK while retaining his ‘Hall of Fame’ ranking for Intellectual Property in the Legal 500 UK North West guide.
The results achieved across both directories demonstrate the strength of TLT's offering in Manchester and the North West. This is further illustrated by the recent strategic hires across licensing and real estate including Felicity Tulloch, Rebecca Lowe, Andrew Batterton and Julie Simms. Felicity Tulloch and Rebecca Lowe ranked for the first time within the Legal 500 UK guide and Andrew Batterton is ranked for Planning in the Chambers North West guide.
Manchester was a key contributor to the firm’s strong financial performance in 2025/26, delivering 15% revenue growth over the year as TLT’s overall revenue increased by 11% to £208 million, reflecting client demand across litigation, employment and licensing.
James Chadwick, Partner and Head of Location for Manchester commented: "These rankings reflect the depth of expertise that we have built in Manchester and across the North West, our continued growth in the region and the quality of work we continue to deliver for our clients.
“In Manchester we have continued to invest in our people to support the needs of our clients. Our recognition in the Chambers UK and Legal 500 UK guides, and the results that we see alongside this is testament to the quality and commitment of our work and our people."
