TLT adds duo to market leading licensing team

National law firm TLT has strengthened its UK-wide licensing practice with the hire of Partner Felicity Tulloch and Managing Associate Rebecca Lowe in Manchester.

They join TLT from Kuits, where Felicity was Head of the Licensing & Leisure team. With over 20 years' experience in alcohol and entertainment licensing, Felicity has advised some of the Leisure, Food & Drink sector's biggest names. As a leading lawyer in this area, she acts for bars, restaurants and hotels and has particular expertise in securing licences in areas of cumulative impact.

Managing Associate Rebecca Lowe has built a formidable reputation over more than a decade as a licensing lawyer, navigating complex matters for her clients up and down the country. She advises festivals, sports grounds and property developers, amongst others, on their licensing requirements.

Together they have provided strategic licensing advice on many high profile matters, such as the redevelopment of the Spinningfields estate and the former BBC site in Manchester. They secured a 24 hour licence for Aviva Studios and have licensed late night bars and clubs across the North West and beyond.

In addition to their legal work, Felicity serves as a Trustee of the Manchester based food and hospitality charity EatWell MCR and Rebecca is a Trustee of Spoons, a Greater Manchester based neonatal family support charity.

Felicity and Rebecca’s arrival enhances TLT’s market leading licensing team and its ability to provide top tier strategic licensing advice to clients in the North West and across the UK.

Commenting on her appointment, Felicity said: “TLT’s reputation in licensing is absolutely first-class, and Rebecca and I are both excited by the opportunity to contribute to growing its footprint in the North West region, as well as supporting clients across the country.

“Our shared values and commitment to the North West community is another major draw – we are proud to be joining a firm which is delivering on its ambitions year on year, while continuing to be valued for its values.”

Matthew Phipps, Partner and Head of Licensing at TLT, added: “Felicity and Rebecca will be a great addition to our team and their established relationships will further boost our business in the North West region as we help clients to unlock opportunities presented by the coming months and beyond.

“As the Leisure, Food and Drink sector looks forward to a busy summer of entertainment, what better time to be bringing in two highly experienced, knowledgeable and well-regarded licensing lawyers.”

With national reach across the UK, TLT’s market-leading licensing team plays an active role in shaping licensing policy at both national and local levels: regularly contributing to Government and industry consultations, advising leading operators on responses to proposed legislative reform, and engaging directly with policymakers and representative bodies to help influence the direction of licensing regulation.

The team has supported some of the UK’s most prominent leisure and entertainment brands including Ambassador Theatre Group, Boardmasters, Flight Club Darts and Electric Shuffle, Greene King, Imperial London Hotels Group, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), Punch Pubs and the England Rugby Football Union (RFU, in relation to Twickenham Stadium) with ongoing licensing advice.
