TLT advises on strategic growth of Klondyke Group Limited

It has been an exciting year for the Klondyke Group, the family-owned garden centre business. The Falkirk headquartered group operates from 24 sites across the UK, trading as William Strikes. Their garden centre venues with dining options have proved very popular with record footfall in 2025.
The Group recently added The Crieff Visitor Centre to their portfolio and TLT were delighted to support Klondyke on making this acquisition. The Crieff Visitor Centre was opened in 1984 as an outlet shop and restaurant but was acquired by the previous owners, the McLaren Family, in 1999. Under their stewardship, the business expanded significantly and now includes a garden centre, gift shop, exhibition space and restaurant.

David Yardley, Klondyke’s Chief Executive, stated: “We are delighted to welcome The Crieff Visitor Centre into the Klondyke family. The centre has an outstanding reputation and loyal customer base. This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision to invest in thriving businesses that share our passion for horticulture, sustainability and exceptional customer service.”
The Group’s continued growth ambitions are also supported by their bankers, HSBC, who recently put pen to paper on a further facility refinancing. Since re-banking the business in 2015, the Group has utilised HSBC funding to renovate and expand its garden centres. Over this period, the Group has increased its turnover by over two thirds, despite an often challenging economic backdrop.
TLT guided the Group through its latest refinancing transaction, led by banking partner Euan Cluness, who said: “It’s been fantastic to work with Klondyke Group as they expand their footprint with The Crieff Visitor Centre acquisition whilst also securing their debt financing for the next seven years. The Group have a great relationship with their bankers and it’s clear to see how highly valued a customer they are to HSBC as they have secured a very compelling debt financing package. This gives the Group a tremendous platform to continue their growth ambitions.”
Over the past twelve months, TLT has supported the Group across a number of its practice areas.
Sharon Allan, Klondyke Group Finance Director, commented: “We’ve been working with TLT on a number of projects and we highly value their commercial approach and responsiveness. The team are clearly passionate about delivering a great service to their clients and provide straightforward and clear guidance on matters, rather than sitting on the fence.”
The TLT team who have acted for Klondyke Group are banking partner Euan Cluness with Managing Associate Peter Smartt and Associate Xeni Ksinanova; Corporate partner Damien Bechelli and Legal Director Kirsty Smith; and Investment and Asset Management Partner Pat Sheehan, Managing Associate Amy Campbell, and Senior Associate Alex Arciechowska.
