Senior Associate

Henry is a Senior Associate in TLT’s international trade practice.
Henry specialises in international trade law, including the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO), free trade agreements, trade remedies, tariffs, export controls, and the UK’s trading relationship with the European Union.
Henry’s experience includes representing the UK government in free trade agreement negotiations, including with Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Gulf Cooperation Council, EFTA and Singapore.
Prior to joining TLT Henry was a lawyer at the UK Department for Business and Trade where he advised on the drafting of intellectual property chapters in several free trade agreements. Henry continues to regularly advise on the trade related aspects of intellectual property rights

Experience
- Advising the UK government on the free trade agreement negotiations with the Gulf Cooperation Council, Mexico, Canada and India as well as on the UK’s accession to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
- Advising an entity on a proposed international information-sharing agreement in relation to export controls and the protection of confidential information.
- A secondment into a central government department to support the drafting of free trade agreements.
- Advising a central government department on obligations arising under multilateral environmental agreements.
- Advising a central government department on cross border subsidies in relation to a c.£200 million funding facility relating to the UK’s net zero policy programme.
