Jason Gurung

Jason acts for a wide range of retail banks and financial institutions (both as Claimant and Defendant) on complex and often high value litigation.

He has experience in resolving disputes relating to consumer credit (in particular motor finance agreements), fraud, financial crime, data privacy, contractual disputes and complex recoveries actions.

Jason has also completed two secondments to the legal department of a major high street bank, most recently within their point-of-sale finance legal department.

• Acting for creditors defending claims brought under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Examples include high value product liability claims involving cosmetic surgery and the alleged mis-selling of home improvement products.
• Acting for banks and financial institutions in relation to Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud.
• Acting for a major bank in a complex defended possession claim involving multiple overseas parties.
