Islamic finance
Our Islamic Finance team has a wealth of experience in creating and reviewing suites of Shariah compliant banking documentation, including Murabaha, Diminishing Musharakah, Bay Mu’ajjal, Ijara, Istisna and Mudaraba products.
We also advise on Islamic Finance deals based on the above structures.
Experience
- Advising Bank of Ireland and Islamic Bank of Britain on their standard form commodity-based Murabaha refinance/finance packages.
- Advising British Arab Commercial Bank on their standard client agreement (including accounts mandates) to ensure fitness for purpose and compliance with PSD2.
- Advising QIB on the drafting of a suite of Shariah compliant Diminishing Musharakah regulated mortgage products (MCOB regulated home purchase plans) with concomitant Ijara lease (and legal mortgage) structures.
