Alison Richards

Ali provides commercial contracts and public procurement advice to a range of public sector clients.

She has extensive experience of large-scale, complex Government and wider public sector transactions and regularly advises clients on the preparatory stages of such transactions including participating in options assessments, strategic procurement. Ali is experienced in working within a political landscape that responds to national and local policy. She is also very aware of the impact public projects have on public confidence and the need for the sector to be seen to be getting things right first time.

Ali has extensive experience of large-scale, complex Government and wider public sector transactions and her client base has included a range of central government bodies including the Ministry of Defence; Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office; British Council; Nuclear Decommissioning Authority; Department of Health; Competition and Markets Authority; The Royal Parks and Government Property Agency.

Ali advises in relation to developing and procuring project-related contracts which are relevant to the needs of the organisation and adhere to procurement legislation, the organisations’ financial standing orders and meet governance requirements.

Ali's experience extends to projects within blue light, NHS, social housing, adult social care, waste and a wide range of local authority services.

Experience

  • Defence Marine Services Next Generation Contract: Lead Partner on the procurement elements of a complex, multi-contract project to bring to the market procurements for the future provision of marine related services. 
  • Gloucestershire County Council: Lead Partner supporting the procurement of services to 5 care homes.
  • Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and British Council  – ECHO2 Programme: This project involved three work streams related to national/global telecommunications networks and services including procurement of a single supplier Framework Agreement with two immediate call off contracts for Network Service Integration Services (NSI) and the establishment and procurement of a multi-supplier Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for global internet connectivity including the delivery and installation of equipment and provision of services across the FCDO/BC estate.
  • MoD - Military Pay and Pensions Service - re-procurement of the contract relating to military pay and pensions.
  • The Royal Parks – procurement of a number of public concession arrangements including for The Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
