TLT strengthens trust and estate team with senior hire
Claire’s appointment follows a growth in demand for the firm’s tax and succession planning expertise in the domestic and international sphere from both private and corporate clients.
Claire has over 25 years of legal and tax experience and has long been recognised as a leading individual in the Welsh private client market where she previously headed up the private client offering at a substantial commercial firm. As well as regularly working with high net worth families across and down the generations, Claire has enjoyed a focus on advising business owners, working closely with corporate colleagues to provide a joined-up approach to business succession and personal planning.
Patrick Wooddisse, partner and head of TLT’s trust and estate team commented: “We’re delighted to have welcomed Claire to the team. Her reputation and experience further enhances our wealth planning offering for both private clients and those in the bank and corporate sectors.”
Claire Johnson, legal director at TLT said: “I’m pleased to be joining the team at TLT during such a pivotal time in the trust and estate sector. Indeed, the pandemic has, if anything, sharpened people’s focus on the importance of planning for the future. In an uncertain world, a common conundrum for many is how best and when to pass on family wealth, or the family business, in a measured and protected way whilst reducing the burden of inheritance tax.
“As well as enjoying the quality and breadth of work for an enviable client base of private and corporate clients at TLT, I’m also looking forward to supporting the team during this time of growth and development. It is an exciting time to have joined, just as the firm celebrates picking up the prestigious Law Firm of the Year award and to have the opportunity to be part of what comes next!”
