Her practice focuses the offtake and revenue streams for renewables and decarbonisation projects, which includes project development and structuring, grid connections, and energy regulation. This spans a range of technologies, including onshore and offshore wind, solar, hydrogen, CCUS, flex, and stand-alone and co-located battery storage, across the lifecycle of an energy project, from early-stage development through to disposals, repowering and decommissioning. Her extensive knowledge of the commercial drivers applying to energy development and offtake transactions, acquired both in private practice and in-house, underpins her commercial and pragmatic approach.
Most recently, Helen has been at the forefront of revenue structuring for co‑located solar and battery projects in Britain. Her experience includes advising on the UK’s largest portfolio of co‑located solar and BESS assets and negotiating what has been reported as the first banked, unsubsidised hybrid offtake agreement for solar and BESS. She has also advised on a number of other market‑leading and first‑of‑their‑kind transactions across BESS optimisation, merchant revenue models and corporate procurement of carbon‑free energy, and the development of hydrogen and CCUS projects.
