He has developed a particular specialism in defending contentious regulatory and professional negligence actions based on mis-selling of a wide range of complex investment products, including investments, pensions, mortgages, insurance products and fixed rate loans.
Hugh also advises banks and financial institutions in connection with issues pertaining to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 and the Consumer Credit Act 1974. He regularly acts in complex defended recoveries and litigation involving bank security, financial crime, contractual disputes, and disputes arising from individual and corporate insolvency.
