We have one of the largest national claimant professional negligence teams across the UK. We're known for our ability to employ the tools of alternative dispute resolution, the pre-action protocol and court proceedings to recover substantial sums for our clients from third parties.

We have experience in pursuing a range of professionals, from valuers and solicitors, through to accountants and claims managers. Our expertise enables us to provide excellent advice not only on the claims against professionals but also related insurance, title and fraud issues that arise.

We’re known for our work in the Financial Services sector and we act for most of the UK major lenders across the commercial and retail space. We also pursue claims for corporates, SMEs and high net worth clients across all sectors.

Experience

• Securing a £3 million settlement for a UK clearing bank against a national valuer in relation to a valuation of a brownfield residential development site in Lancashire.
• Pursuing a claim against a global valuer on behalf of a private bank in relation to a villa on the south coast of France. The claim involved questions as to the applicable law and jurisdiction as well as complex issues as to causation, with a settlement significantly above the client's bottom line achieved at mediation.
• Acting for a lender in a claim against solicitors for failing to advise correctly as to the terms of a head lease of an office block (specifically ground rents), which meant that both the LTV ratio and debt service cover was inadequate.
• Advising a commercial lender in relation to an overvaluation claim relating to a mixed use property development, achieving a seven-figure settlement recovery via mediation.
• Pursuing a global property firm and solicitors in relation to a £12 million loss arising out of a development in North London and making a substantial recovery. Also advising the lender on the viability of claims against the borrower's former director for fraudulent misrepresentation.
