International tax & trusts

We provide advice on tax planning to individuals who have connections with the UK and other countries, giving guidance on the UK rules relating to non-domiciliaries and double tax treaty planning.
We have a deep understanding of many foreign tax regimes and a comprehensive network of advisers in other countries to help us support clients cross-border.
Our experienced team of lawyers advises on property structuring for UK and foreign property, all aspects of trust law as well as international succession planning and probate.
We also advise trustees on international trust law issues and the tax consequences of any exercise of their discretion.
Experience
- Advising a UK resident Kenyan domiciliary on his exit from Kenya and on the restructuring of his wealth.
- Advising an ultra high net worth UK resident family on the replacement of a complex offshore trust structure with a UK company partnership vehicle. This has been both more tax efficient and more viable.
- Administered an ultra high net worth Pakistani individual's estate with complex offshore financial affairs held through trusts and individually, requiring involvement from lawyers in other jurisdictions including Jersey, Guernsey and Pakistan.
- Developing precedents and procedures for a bank including drafting its charitable trust precedent and related grant making policy, drafting a policy relating to Lasting Powers of Attorney for its wealth management division and general updating of precedents for trust deeds.
