Jonny Davies

He advises organisations on technology-enabled modernisation and transformation programmes and other business-critical commercial arrangements.

Jonny supports clients as they procure, implement and manage complex technology solutions and services. His experience spans a broad range of technology and commercial matters, including outsourcing arrangements, innovative digital projects, software and SaaS contracts, cloud services, and the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled products and services. He works closely with clients throughout the lifecycle of these arrangements, from developing commercial and contracting strategies through to negotiation, supplier selection and ongoing contract management.

Jonny advises a variety of retailers on technology, procurement and outsourcing projects. His time spent on secondment within the legal teams of two major retailers enables him to provide pragmatic advice that reflects the realities of operating large-scale retail businesses.

He also works extensively with banks, building societies, fintech businesses and other regulated organisations on strategic technology and outsourcing initiatives, including compliance with outsourcing and operational resilience requirements.

Jonny's work helps organisations deliver complex transformation programmes, navigate commercial and regulatory risk, and establish contractual frameworks that support innovation, growth and operational resilience.

Jonny is a member of the Society for Computers and Law.

Jurisdiction: England & Wales

• Advising a major UK grocer on an 18 month, multi-tower, strategic technology transformation programme covering its whole IT estate.
• Advising a major UK energy provider on three separate billing solution outsourcings for different parts of its business in the UK and Ireland.
• Advising Reclaim Fund Ltd on the expansion of the UK dormant assets scheme to a variety of different asset classes, including closely advising Reclaim Fund on the commercial arrangements with participants for the expanded scheme.
• Advising FOS on a multi-tower, transformational outsourcing of its various IT services, including managed IT services and the creation of a customer portal and a participant portal.
• Advising a major international retailer on the IT support arrangement for all of its circa 1000 UK-based stores.
