This work has entailed an array of instructions including title due diligence reporting, asset management and landlord and tenant matters together with wider support on major developments and regeneration projects.

Michael has also gained extensive experience working for a wide array of Clients in addition to public sector bodies, including national retailers, small to medium sized businesses and private individuals. Michael considers matters with a commercial mindset, taking into account the practicalities of provisions and how they might interact with and impact upon his Client's goals. This allows Michael to deliver a nuanced service to Clients that goes beyond the purely legalistic transaction methodology and which adds real value to the transaction.

Jurisdiction: England & Wales

• Advising as part of a wider team on the drafting and negotiation of a complex strategic partnership agreement for development and regeneration of a large urban area.
• Preparing and researching reports and guidance in relation to specific legal subjects including the Electronic Telecommunications Code, Housing Law and Landlord and Tenant Law.
• Embedding with a Client on secondment for 9 months and leading on general asset management transactions, including the onboarding of new major tenants involving the use of Agreements for Lease, Leases and Deeds of Easement.
• Conducting title due diligence investigation across a large geographical area in support of proposed development plans by a local authority, which has included the review of leasehold interests and reporting on the presence of key development impediments and potential stakeholders.
• Advising a national house building agency on the delivery and implementation of key infrastructure agreements including the use of substation leases, transfers of land pursuant to section 106 obligations and the granting of easements to statutory providers as part of a wider major development in the south of England.
