TLT adds 29 lawyers to its future energy, infrastructure and planning capabilities creating one of the largest practices of its kind in the UK
This comes against the backdrop of the UK Government investing in infrastructure and clean energy to deliver growth, cementing the firm’s position as a leading adviser in these areas.
Throughout 2025, TLT will be expanding its capabilities in future energy, infrastructure, public law and planning with the appointment of 29 lawyers, including eight partners and 21 associates. The group, who join from Broadfield (formerly BDB Pitmans), will bring the total number of lawyers specialising in these practice areas at TLT to more than 150, making it one of the largest groups of its kind in the UK. The new joiners will be based in the firm’s London office with the first arrivals starting in February and March.
The eight partners recognised as leading experts in the areas of planning, infrastructure, future energy and public law are Mustafa Latif-Aramesh and Duncan O’Connor, who will join TLT on 1 April 2025, and Sarah Clark, Nick Evans, Tom Henderson, James Ross, Angus Walker and Richard Marsh who will join the firm later in the year.
Further demonstrating their expertise in planning and infrastructure, Nick and Mustafa are also registered as "roll A" parliamentary agents. They will be valuable additions to the team, possessing the skills to navigate parliamentary procedures essential for advising clients on private and hybrid bills.
The news follows a significant period of growth for TLT’s public sector, infrastructure and future energy teams in the last twelve months, during which it expanded its national footprint and tightened its stronghold on the clean energy sector. 2024 saw the firm bring in additional expertise in real estate with the appointments of David Miller, Nick Shenken and Joe Kelly; banking and finance with the appointments of Michael Kruger and Victoria Quek; energy regulatory with the appointment of Juliet Stradling; and projects, infrastructure and construction with the appointments of Madi Dacey and Alex Murdie.
Managing partner John Wood said: "The appointment of these 29 individuals continues our ambitious growth strategy and our commitment to delivering the best client service while also maintaining our market-leading and progressive culture. We look forward to welcoming them all to TLT.”
Maria Connolly, partner and head of future energy and real estate at TLT said: “The appointments of our new eight partners and the wider team, cements our position as an expert adviser to the future energy, government and infrastructure sectors, underlining our reputation and our strategic focus on meeting the current and future needs of clients.
“With the ever-evolving landscape of energy, infrastructure, planning law and regulation in the UK, including the UK Government’s Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, the addition of these 29 lawyers will be invaluable. We look forward to welcoming our new colleagues to TLT as we navigate these complex changes and deliver strategic forward-thinking solutions for our clients.”
