Managing Associate

John is a Managing Associate in the Planning and Environment team.
He advises on planning issues, applications and appeals across a variety of sectors and specialises in transport and renewable energy projects.
John has extensive experience of nationally significant infrastructure projects and regularly advises on all aspects of development consent order applications, from the early stages of consultation through to post-consent implementation. He has extensive experience of the EIA and Habitats Regulations and the DCO application and examination processes.
John also advises on compulsory purchase. His experience includes advising strategic and local highway authorities promoting compulsory purchase orders under the Highways Act 1980.
John’s recent experience includes advising the promoters of numerous nationally significant highways and energy projects, including offshore wind, solar and battery storage projects. John has also advised government departments on decision making on numerous orders.
