Licensed premises: Maximising trading opportunities over Christmas and New Year
Many licences will already allow for seasonal extensions of hours over Christmas and New Year - for example on New Year's Eve you may be permitted to trade from opening on New Year's Eve through to the end of your permitted hours on New Year's Day. The starting point as ever is to check when your licence does permit you to trade.
In the event that you need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) we have set out below the last date for submitting a TEN
- Christmas Eve 24 December 2022 – Last date for giving a TEN 9 December 2022 / Last date for giving a Late TEN 16 December 2022
- Christmas Day 25 December 2022 – Last date for giving a TEN 9 December 2022 / Last date for giving a Late TEN 16 December 2022
- Boxing Day 26 December 2022 – Last date for giving a TEN 9 December 2022 / Last date for giving a Late TEN 16 December 2022
- New Year’s Eve 31 December 2022 – Last date for giving a TEN 14 December 2022 / Last date for giving a Late TEN 21 December 2022
When submitting your applications for TENs please remember that the annual allowance for TENs at a particular venue is now 20 (covering up to 26 days).
If you require any assistance in submitting applications for TENs please do not hesitate to contact one of the Licensing team.
