Reorganisations & redundancies

Implementing change successfully is about keeping your organisation fit for purpose, without exposing it to unnecessary risk. We work with a wide variety of organisations, from large corporates in the retail, leisure and financial services sectors to SMEs, charitable organisations and public bodies.
Our team has experience in all areas of restructuring, whether involving redundancies and reduction in staffing levels, or a change in benefits and terms and conditions. We also advise on collective consultation requirements and large scale contractual changes.
We work alongside our clients to manage the risks involved in implementing change programmes within their businesses, helping them achieve the results they want and need to succeed. Our clients benefit from the breadth of our experience and the practical advice that enables us to deliver.
Experience
- Advised a FTSE100 Fast Moving Consumer Goods company on a large scale redundancy programme, involving advice on business case, statutory notification, consultation with trade unions and employee representatives, and advice on individual issues including in relation to senior executives.
- Advised a multinational insurance company on the closure of its Scottish operation near Glasgow, involving the loss of approximately 500 jobs. We advised on strategy, business case, consultation issues, statutory notification and risk mitigation.
- Advised a housing association on its organisation wide restructure, providing all employment advice and guiding the client through negotiation with an aggressive trade union, senior exits as part of the redundancy programme and changes to key terms and conditions for all staff.
