David advises on a wide range of employment matters, and alongside HR advisory work his specialisms include TUPE, reorganisations, and complex litigation.
David has more than a decade’s experience advising clients in Scotland, the UK, and internationally. David has particular experience in the Energy sector, supporting companies with both an on- and off-shore presence, while also working regularly with Financial Services, Infrastructure, and Technology clients, amongst others. David’s clients commend his direct, practical and pragmatic advice.
David has worked inhouse (on secondment) with a flag-carrier airline, and applies the knowledge gained in his advice to clients, which is praised for its clarity and commerciality.
David is also a qualified mediator, and an admitted attorney in New York.

- Defending a complex multi-jurisdictional whistleblowing claim involving 17 Respondents across 4 countries.
- Supporting a client with a large scale (100+) redundancy process, from initial planning and timetabling through to termination.
- Assisting with TUPE drafting and process guidance for a financial client’s multi-stage offshore outsourcing.
- Supporting an international client with all Scottish employment aspects of the acquisition of a national infrastructure company (in administration) with multiple high value Scottish sites including thousands of employees.
- Tactical guidance and support with contentious executive exits.
- Advice to a national infrastructure client on tactical responses to a trade union’s statutory recognition application.
