Markus Schober

Markus has significant experience acting for private and public sector clients on all aspects of the employment relationship such as performance and conduct matters, grievance investigations, policy and contractual advice, organisational change and recruitment.

Markus specialises in complex tribunal claims often involving discrimination and/or sensitive disciplinary and grievance situations, whistleblowing and redundancy/restructures.  

Markus enjoys getting to know his client and their objectives to provide pragmatic and commercial advice within the context of the sectors and regulatory confines in which they operate. He also delivers bespoke training for clients across a broad range of employment law topics.

Markus is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.

Experience

  • Successfully defended an NHS Trust at an eight-day hearing against a complicated whistleblowing claim brought by a nurse
  • Advised private sector clients on potential restrictive covenant breaches and appropriate action in response
  • Successfully defended an employer and several named Respondents against wide ranging claims of discrimination, victimisation and harassment based on the Claimant’s race, religion and sex. There were also claims of whistleblowing detriment/health and safety detriment and constructive unfair dismissal.
  • Advised private sector clients in connection with complex grievance investigations
  • Delivered bespoke training to cohort of Chief Executives from a range of industries
  • Advised in relation to a gross misconduct investigation against a Chief Executive
