TLT completes on net zero and sustainability consultancy investment
The investment saw finnCap acquire a 50% stake in the consultancy for approximately £2.1 million in cash and new finnCap shares, with an option to acquire the remaining 50% by 2026. Around £1.5m of the cash consideration was invested directly into Energise Ltd.
TLT advised Energise Ltd on the structure, implementation and execution of the investment. The deal was led by Philip Barratt (corporate), Yervand Agobiani (corporate), Samuel Dunne (corporate) and Mark Braude (tax).
Energise Ltd is a specialist net zero and sustainability consultancy delivering energy and carbon management for a wide range of businesses (including corporates, public and third sector organisations) and individuals. The new partnership will fuel Energise Ltd’s consultancy growth and support its plans to expand its sustainability consultancy to offer wider ESG support to its customers.
Energise Ltd is accredited by the Carbon Disclosure Project and was awarded B-Corp status in February 2022 and the prestigious Net Zero Leaders award in 2022.
Tamsin Alsbury, Co-CEO and Co-founder of Energise Ltd, said: “The team at TLT provided professional support throughout the investment process, diligently handling queries from all parties and closing out tasks in a timely and efficient manner. They inspired confidence, allowing us to trust that they were in control of the situation at all times and were always working in our best interests.”
Philip Barratt, partner at TLT, said: “Amidst the rising costs of energy and mounting pressure to reduce carbon emissions, businesses from all sectors are looking for advice from companies such as Energise Ltd on how to be more sustainable, how to develop their ESG offering, and how to be more energy-efficient.
"We’re delighted to have supported Energise Ltd throughout this deal. It’s thanks to investments such as these that businesses will be able to successfully reduce carbon emissions and, ultimately, help the UK meet its ambitious net zero targets”.
