He specialises in all property aspects of future energy projects across all technologies and advises on greenfield development, acquisitions, disposals, property structure and deal structure.
He has been external counsel for one of the world’s largest renewable developers and to a number of large UK based developers.
David is also an experienced agricultural practitioner who is recognised in the Legal 500 as a Leading Individual and Chambers as Band 2.
David also acts on a number of large scale strategic land development schemes. This work is mainly acting for landowners and sites range in size from 500 units to 25,000 units. David is regularly recommended by national agents for new and existing schemes due to his track history in advising on these schemes and also his extensive experience in dealing with consortiums and large estates.
Experience
Recent projects include dealing with all property aspects from option stage to disposal of 1.1 GW pipeline;
Greenfield development on a number of transmission and local network connected projects;
Advising a landowning family in relation to a single 750 MW consented NSIP Scheme for combined technologies.
Advising in relation to the Promotion of a 4,500 mixed use scheme;
Advising on the disposal of 5 schemes ranging from 750 – 3,000 units with a combined sale value of >£300,000,000.
David is a member of the Solar Energy UK Natural Capital Steering Group. In this role he is able to influence and discuss the potential additional income streams and how they may impact the future of large scale solar and other technologies.
