Managing Associate

Emma is a Managing Associate in the Planning team.
Emma’s practice encompasses all aspects of planning under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and the Planning Act 2008 acting for developers, public authorities and promoters of large scale projects and advising across a number of sectors.
Emma has extensive experience of major infrastructure projects under the Planning Act regime in particular on third party agreements and environmental issues. She has also advised on projects under the Transport and Works Act regime and hybrid bills. Emma also advises on a wide range of planning issues including strategic advice, permitted development rights, planning agreements, applications for certificates of lawful use, appeals and inquiries.

Experience
- Acted for a major steelmaker on a planning application to redevelop a steelworks to make green steel.
- Acted for a local authority on the promotion of an airport development consent order, advising on environmental issues, drafting and negotiating the section 106 agreement and advising on an adjacent site.
- Advising a local authority in relation to HS2 phase 2b responding to the environmental statement, drafting the petition and advising in relation to the Select Committee process
