Oliver is known for taking a pragmatic and assertive approach to achieving his clients’ objectives.
Oliver's separate advisory practice requires him to coach managers on a broad range of employment and HR topics such as disciplinary/grievance cases, company reorganisations and the employment law implications that exist within wider corporate transactions. He also regularly delivers training and seminars to clients about how to manage internal cultural issues within their workforce.
Oliver began practising employment law in 2014, after which he qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in September 2018 before being admitted to the roll of solicitors in June 2020.

Experience
- Managing a government department’s successful Employment Tribunal defence to a claim for race discrimination and whistleblowing detriments that was heard at a 15-day final hearing.
Advocating on behalf of a multi-national client at an open preliminary hearing and successfully persuading the Employment Judge to dismiss the claim for having no reasonable prospects of success and to award our client the costs that it had incurred.
Conducting a cultural review of His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service and advising on any recurring themes that could be seen from issues that they had received complaints about over the previous 12 months.
Drafting a complete set of employment policies for a large insurance company in London following a merger that it was in the process of undergoing, and advising on the TUPE implications of that merger.
Providing training to the managers of an NHS Trust on how to ‘tackle toxic teams’.
