Rethinking Hospitality
Embracing Challenges, Unlocking Growth
The sector's recovery from the pandemic faces the familiar hurdles of rising inflation, energy costs, labour shortages, and supply chain disruptions. Yet, amidst these challenges, hospitality leaders showcase resilience and innovation.
TLT has partnered with The Caterer to present an insightful report that delves into the experiences of over 500 hospitality operators who are adapting and exploring new revenue streams, uncovering growth opportunities in 2023.
Key findings include:
- Over half of operators are attracting a new customer demographic as a growth strategy in the next 12-18 months.
- Sustainability remains a key focus, with 33% saying they were planning to make changes within their businesses in the next 12 months.
- Enhancing social media use and targeting wellbeing was seen as key avenues for innovation to broaden a customer base.
- Staffing continues to be a major issue and was highlighted by operators as the biggest social or economic factor impacting the sector.
- 35% said they had already developed new concepts, brand or products to drive revenue with 32% saying they had plans to do so.
- Half of operators said they were already engaged with local communities to promote the importance of ‘sustainable socialising’, while 33% said they had a net-zero strategy.
The report reveals the challenges, opportunities, and reasons for optimism in the year ahead and how businesses can adapt to mitigate these challenges. Including conversations with senior leaders across hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars, and event venues in the UK, our report equips businesses with valuable insights to innovate and grow.
