He advises on all aspects of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Act and supports clients with complex consumer and competition law behavioural matters, with a particular focus on the digital and retail sector. He has particular expertise in helping clients navigate digital regulation across the UK and EU.
Richard also regularly advises clients during investigations brought by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA). In recent years he has advised on several high profile CMA consumer and competition investigations into electric vehicle charging, price comparison websites and package holidays. He also advised a large online retail group in the CMA’s first investigation into misleading environmental claims.
Richard is actively involved in regulatory affairs and frequently attends roundtables with government and regulators in relation to consumer, competition and digital regulatory matters – particularly in relation to implementation and scope of the DMCC Act.
