Product liability and recall

Our national Product Liability team understands how important it is to protect your brand when things go wrong. We have advised clients who are facing difficult decisions about remediation, as well as helping clients understand how to reduce product-related risks, both in the UK and internationally.

Product liability is still a key risk area for our agile trading and consumer goods clients. As the UK continues to adjust to post-Brexit arrangements for domestic product recall, we believe it’s crucial to be able to quickly access trusted advice if safety issues arise, particularly with a consumer product.

We have experience in:

Acting for producers, manufacturers and retailers managing product liability risk
Defending product liability and product safety issues, including handling national and international product recalls
Drafting product recall policies for clients to document the governance arrangements and mitigate risk

We work closely with the Commercial Contracts team to make sure risks are controlled in supply chain agreements. We also use the expertise of our Commercial Disputes team for claims relating to product liability.
