TLT climbs Experian adviser league tables
TLT has climbed Experian’s adviser league tables for deal value across the UK and once again ranks highly for the volume of deals completed in the first half of 2020.
In what could have been an uncertain period due to continuing Brexit negotiations and the impact of the coronavirus on investor confidence, TLT was the third most active legal adviser in the South West.
Following a series of major, complex deals, TLT also saw an increase in its deal value ranking in the South West, North West and Yorkshire & Humber, ranking eighth, fourth and sixth respectively.
Deal volume has increased in Northern Ireland, where the firm has made significant investments in its corporate team in the last two years, appointing Andrew Jennings (partner) to lead the team, and Grant Edwards as associate.
In 2019, TLT also acquired HRC Law’s five-strong corporate team in Manchester, including partners Richard Life and Mark Traynor, associates Sherrelle Scott and William Ngan and solicitor Jennifer Kelly.
Andrew Webber, UK head of corporate at TLT, says: “While the market has certainly being affected by the coronavirus, we are finding that there is a significant amount of deal activity happening across the UK. Stronger, cash rich businesses are buying up brands that can help them to diversify, for example, while other businesses are looking at restructuring and refinancing.
“The team has continued to deliver a stellar performance for our clients in the first half of 2020, and we are actively supporting our clients as they seize opportunities or look for ways to respond to the various issues and changes that have been taking place in recent months.”
TLT’s recent deals include:
- Acting on the rescue of Go Outdoors
- Advising in the T.M. Lewin acquisition
- Advising Maven Capital Partners UK on its growth capital investment in data analytics company Hublsoft Group Limited
- Completing a Series A round for biotech startup Hyris
- Advising Longacre Group on an investment in Prowrap Limited
