Employers do not have to report gender pay gaps this year

This temporary measure was announced by the Government Equalities Office today (24 March 2020) and is a decision that has been taken to try and ease some of the "unprecedented uncertainty and pressure" that employers are faced with at this time.

Prior to this announcement, the deadline for reporting was 30 March 2020 for public-sector organisations and 4 April 2020 for private companies and charities. The figures were to be calculated using the "snapshot date" of 31 March 2019 and 5 April 2019 respectively.

It is not clear whether there will be new deadlines for submitting the data as, currently, it appears that the requirement has been suspended indefinitely. For more information, please see the Government Equalities Office website
