Pub companies & brewers

We advise some of the most renowned managed and tenanted pub companies in the UK as well as many multi-site operators of pub tenancies. We also advise global, national and regional brewers.
We help pub companies and brewers with the issues they face as a result of market and legislative change. We support them with the day-to-day management of their estates alongside strategic advice in areas such as agreement innovation and regulation, for example the Industry Framework Code, drafting individual codes of practice and the Pubs Code.
Through our work with organisations such as UKHospitality and by consulting with the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy committee and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, we help shape policy that affects the sector.
Our services include drafting and advising on tenancy agreements, management agreements, the beer tie, secured free trade loans, supply contracts, debt collection and recovery, insolvency and in-or-out of possession disputes. We also have significant experience in assisting with the commercial and competition aspects of commercial arrangements including pub management agreements, related terms for amusement and gaming machines, business rates agreements, conditions of sale, franchising and commercial joint ventures and commercial vehicle fleet contracts. This is complemented by our regulatory services who can assist with all aspects of existing and emerging regulatory law.
We have a market-leading licensing team that supports on all aspects of managing licences across property portfolios. Clients benefit from our strong national real estate team that provides support with asset management strategy. We advise on issues concerning planning, energy efficiency obligations, updating and modernising tenancy documentation and streamlining estate management processes. We also have expertise in areas such as intellectual property, data protection and statutory compliance.
