Nick is a recognised expert in infrastructure planning, public law and parliamentary agency.
He has over 20 years' experience advising clients across a range of sectors, helping to secure consents for major transport, energy, and flood defence schemes.
Nick has extensive experience advising public bodies of all kinds, including central and local government, transport authorities and environmental regulators.
As one of only a dozen active parliamentary agents, Nick regularly acts on hybrid and private bills, acting for bodies as varied as banks, local authorities, cemeteries and navigation bodies.
He is a member of the Society of Parliamentary Agents, NIPA, UKELA and the CPA, and is recognised in Chambers and Legal 500.

- Acting on every hybrid bill to come before Parliament in recent years, including representing the Greater Manchester authorities on HS2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail.
- Promoting private Acts of Parliament to secure the long-term future of the historic cemeteries at Highgate and Kensal Green.
- Advising on and the drafting the necessary legislation for the creation of several combined authorities.
- Promoting development consent orders for new highways, railways and electric lines.
- Promoting transport and works orders for heavy rail and light rail schemes in London, Nottingham, Manchester, Blackpool and South Wales.
- Long-term advice to the Environment Agency and Natural Resources Wales on issues ranging from flood defence to fisheries, and from the regulation of nuclear power stations to Brexit.
- Advising a Middle Eastern government on the creation of a new environmental and development control regime.
