Telecoms

Property, planning and construction considerations are fundamental to the successful deployment and retention of telecommunication apparatus and the running of complex estates. We ensure contracts address landlord and tenant obligations, Electronic Communications Code (ECC) rights, and planning or construction constraints affecting installation, access, co-location and future upgrades, while our expertise allows us to view transactions through a development and regeneration lens to flag any immediate or potential future issues which could impact operators and/or developers.
Where infrastructure is shared, we align site rights, access arrangements and operational responsibilities with the wider commercial and delivery model. Our experience includes advising major telecoms operators and infrastructure providers on planning strategy, permitted development rights, deployment of 5G infrastructure, protection of operational assets and complex estate and asset management issues.
We have significant experience advising a wide range of public and private sector landowners — including central government bodies, residential management companies and pension funds — on infrastructure sited on their land, covering the negotiation of Code agreements, portfolio analysis and the management of apparatus where redevelopment, regeneration or disposal is in prospect.
