His experience spans the transport and energy sectors, including rail, highways, airports, solar farms, transmission lines, and other energy projects. Specialising in compulsory acquisition, Rahil works collaboratively with land referencers, surveyors, and other consultants to develop effective land strategies that help clients secure the land needed for their projects.
Rahil's experience in acting for both promoters and affected parties allows him to provide well-rounded, strategic advice, balancing the interests of all stakeholders while navigating complex challenges.
He has also carried out advocacy, negotiated numerous agreements, and advised on complex consultation and environmental issues.
Rahil is a member of the Compulsory Purchase Association (CPA) and a current member of the CPA Future Committee.

Experience
- Successfully negotiated agreements and protective provisions with utility companies, statutory undertakers and landowners, on several DCOs.
- Played a key role in advising on the compulsory acquisition aspects of the largest highway project in the United Kingdom since the M25.
- Advised several solar farm developers navigating their way through the DCO process for the first time.
- Advised on the first two airport DCOs, leading on all compulsory acquisition matters and related agreements.
- Advised a private business affected by HS2, guided the business through the Tribunal process, and successfully negotiated settlement before a hearing.
- Implemented several made DCOs and TWAOs, using both the General Vesting Declaration and Notice to Treat procedures.
