A recent report by the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee of the House of Commons concluded that the success of the UK’s pro-innovation approach to the regulation of AI will depend on the ability of the regulators to put the five high-level principles outlined in the government’s AI White Paper into practice. So how are regulators in the UK taking these White Paper proposals forward?

A new AI bill is expected to be announced in the King’s Speech this week; however, until the scope of the new legislation has been agreed, it will remain important for regulators to continue their work in identifying emerging risks and developing detailed guidance for their sectors.
